1N5817 Schottky Diode
Schottky diodes are characterized by fast switching times and low forward voltage drops which make them good choices for polarity protection diodes and reverse EMF shunt diodes. The 1N5817 withstands up to 1A forward current and a maximum reverse voltage of 20V. The forward voltage drop is a low 0.5V (450mV) at 1A.
